School Supplies Drive a home run — again

School children throughout Williamsburg, James City County, and York County are already using supplies made possible by Williamsburg’s 2012 School Supplies Drive nickednamed “Fill the Room.”

“We received donations from all over our three-country area,” says Knights Inn owner and Williamsburg City Councilman Doug Pons.

Basecamp Productions owner Susan Branch Smith explains that the annual Williamsburg “Fill the Room” School Supplies Drive collects supplies over the winter. “We like to fill the gap between fall school collections. Schools typically run low on supplies by late winter.”

Williamsburg’s “Fill the Room” drives are so named because the Knights Inn Williamsburg Busch Gardens Area (620 York Street) empties a guest room to fill with school supplies or food. “Williamsburg’s Fill the Room Drives Supplies Drives” are sponsored by the Knights Inn and Basecamp Productions.
